All about Polynucleotides

You'll have read from previous blogs and probably word of mouth that many patients love skin boosters - they are safe, give natural looking results, and plump/hydrate the skin nicely.

They can be used on face and neck, and even hands and chest. Results are subtle but for some give incredible rejuvenation of the skin.

They are made from hyaluronic acid.

However, there’s a new kid in town that everyone is talking about - ENTER: Polynucleotides

What are polynucleotides?

They are highly purified DNA molecules of natural extraction, and are biostimulators which help produce fibroblasts which in turn create more collagen and elastin. They also help hydration. And in addition they may help calm inflammation in the skin, and help mop up free radicals which are unstable molecules which accelerate ageing.

What can they be used for?

A bit like Profhilo they can be used as a preventative skin booster for younger patients, to keep that glow and maintain healthy skin.

But where they differ to Profhilo is that these products are highly regenerative, rather than just rejuvenating the skin. So there is less immediate impact compared to Profhilo but more internal stimulation of key components of younger looking skin - Indeed they can be used together for best impact!

For slightly older patients with more crepy skin they can be used to help strengthen up the skin matrix with collagen and elastin, giving the skin a firmer more youthful complexion.

They can also be used under the eyes where the skin is often very fragile and darker, and are a great option for those not suitable for Tear trough fillers.

Can they be used alongside other treatments?

Absolutely! Polynucleotides at Skinphinity aesthetics clinic in Tarporley are commonly paired with other treatments and can prime the skin perfectly before other treatments such as Botox, dermal fillers, Profhilo, microneedling or even prior to surgery.

What is the cost of treatment?

Polynucleotide injections at our clinic in Tarporley cost £350 for one session, £900 for 3 sessions or £999 for 4 sessions.

Do note that one session on it's own is not necessarily recommended as for best results you will need multiple sessions, as with Profhilo.

How is it injected?

After numbing the skin with local anaesthetic, they are introduced into the skin using a tiny needle or cannula depending on the area.

How many treatments do I need?

Ideally three or four sessions of treatment, two or three weeks apart, but many people will see benefit even after the first treatment.

What product do you use?

At Skinphinity we use the Plinest range by Mastelli - a premium brand that has been established in Italy for 30 years.
