3 Easy steps to healthier looking skin by GP and cosmetic doctor in Tarporley

Many people getting Botox and fillers don’t actually pay enough attention to their skin health, which I am trying to change by educating my patients in every clinic
— Dr Adam Cheong

If you sometimes wonder where you should start with your skin, especially with all the marketing for hundreds of different products out there, let me simplify the first few steps.

This is based on my preferred brand ZO Skin Health.

Not everyone needs to start with Botox and fillers. In fact, often I will encourage a good skin care routine before starting Botox because I believe your skin needs to feel and look healthy for you to get the best results from your Botox injections.

Why should you bother ? Oily skin, spots , acne prone, over-sensitive, redness, signs of ageing - these are all reasons to consider. And our skin is said to reflect our inner wellness and health. So the first step to improving this and increasing your confidence is to Cleanse, Exfoliate, Tone.

What is the foundation of good skin according to ZO Skin health?

GSR - Getting Skin Ready is first step to achieving healthy skin. We must reduce sebum as is pro-inflammatory on the skin. This increases in teenage years hence acne. Pollution also contributes to redness, sensitivity, spots, large pores, dryness, wrinkles, irritation.

So we need to use a good Cleanser to normalise skin/remove debris and make up, decongests skin, reduce surface oil.

We must then exfoliate to facilitate epidermal renewal, improve circulation and enhance product penetration. It also brightens the skin and instantly smooths.

Finally Toning - to help control sebum, gently exfoliate further, restore PH, and enhance product penetration. The ZO toner contacting salicylic acid, and glycolic acid, great for getting oil and preventing breakouts and tightening pores.

Aren’t you just trying to sell me another over-hyped skin product??

It all sounds like a lot of marketing talk, and many skincare brands make these claims, but with ZO Skin health and a bespoke skincare plan, the results can be genuinely transforming. And this is only the start - from here your skin care journey can continue to include anti-aging products, maintenance and pigmentation reduction and many more.

And remember, ZO Skin products are not available over the counter - I have had extensive training on these products in order to stock and sell them. They are available to prescribers only who have trained with ZO registered trainers.

If you are interesting in discussing your skin feel free to contact me for a consultation about ZO Skin Health products or have a look at our skin section of the website here https://www.skinphinity.com/skin-care, I am always happy to talk face to face in my aesthetics clinics in Tarporley and Hale also.
